This month we take the time to focus on feline friends in our lives.
February is National cat health month and what better way to celebrate this pet holiday then learning more about the cats in our care, how best to look after them and what to look out for.
PIF’s education team provides several educational courses specific to cats. The online competency cat care course is available to all and PIF members can gain their discount by using code - PIFMEM20. We also provide our City & Guilds Level 2 Feline health and husbandry courses which are held at our college in Greenwich and also offered as bespoke courses that PIF members also gain a discount on.
National pet dental month
February is also National pet dental month, looking after your cat or dogs dental health is incredibly important not only is it required to ensure they are not suffering but the gums and teeth of your pet can be an indicator of underlying health issues, and we must look after the animals in our care. So, read more about your pets’ dental health here.
Responsible pet owner’s month
Finally, February is also Responsible pet owner’s month, it is our duty as pet care professionals to not only provide our pets with the best care and the pets we look after on a day to day basis but also to ensure we educate our customers on the best care they need to provide to their cats. Read more on how to look after our cats and pass this information on to your customers so they are aware of what to look out for and how to be responsible pet owners here.
In the spirit of this cat focused month fellow PIF members, The Cats Whiskers have allowed us to share with you some of the customer forms they use in their cattery to manage the cats in their care and provide responsible high standard care. You can access an elderly cat questionnaire, flea policy and health and hygiene procedure on your membership platform here.
