Inspector Course

Inspector Training Course

From the 1 October 2018, the new Licensing of Activities Involving Animals Regulations (AAL) require those carrying out inspections to be appropriately qualified.

The Pet Industry Federation and City of London Corporation are pleased to announce that, from the summer of 2020 the Professional Programme will result in a formal qualification.

The accredited course remains fit for purpose and fully meets regulatory requirements – there is an option for learners to convert to the qualification but this is not compulsory.

Under the regulations all inspectors must be suitably qualified by October 2021.

The Professional Programme in Inspecting Licensable Activities Involving Animals’, certificate has been specifically developed by animal health inspectors and education experts to address this new legal requirement. The course will provide inspectors with sufficient training to ensure the legislation, its guidance and animal welfare requirements are understood and implemented.

The course comprises an multiple choice exam, as well as undertaking virtual & ‘face to face’ training. These sessions will be delivered by qualified, experienced inspectors from the City of London, supported by industry experts, held at the specialised facilities at Heathrow Animal Reception Centre. Assessment is through essays and journals, as well as inspection reports.

Course cost: £1190
